1 | Living in Sin | Mark 2:1 | believer323315 | 192210 | ||
Suppose someone very close to you was really wanting to accept Christ into their heart and life...yet, at this present time they are living in sin with someone. They cannot at this point in time, see leaving this other person, so they feel they are not worthy ( which NONE of us are) of Christ's gift. Now I have been told that since this person is not willing to leave this situation voluntarily, that they are not truly ready to be saved... However , I tend to believe that if this person truly wants to accept Christ, and does, that the things she feels she can't do right now,on her own, Christ will strengthen her , and show her His will for her life... which she can't see at this moment. Anyway, this involves someone dear to me, and when she asks me questions concerning all this, I would like to be able to steer her in the right direction. Jesus is our hope. And in accepting Him and His will , nothing is impossible. I would appreciate any advice/scripture to refer her to that might help. God Bless. |

Dear believer---, First of all, do they know that they are living in sin and grieve for it? Are they will to repent though they lack the faith and ability? In what way they are willing to accept Christ? In Mark 2:1-5 Jesus still forgives the sinner who is unable to go to Him by himself but just by the help of his dear friends (like you). What a loving picture it is!!! See also John 8:3-12 While people were so eager to condemn, Jesus gave. Please note verse ll Jesus said, "I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more." Verse 12: Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life." I hope I have helped. Shalom Azure |

Dear P and B, Yes, the gospel is a command. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. (John 3:36 ESV) See also 2 Thes 1:8 and 1 Peter 4:17. In Him, Doc PS It is generally considered poor form to advertise one's own website in forum posts. If you like, you could place it in your profile. However, to everyone else, please note that I cannot vouchsafe for its orthodox Christian contents. I've not had time to read it. |

Thank you for the quick reply. I am sorry if the website address is not allowed. I did not know, have not red to well the rules. But the idea was to identify myself, as much as possible. Since I am living in Scandinavia, this is the only way I could think of. But thank you again. |

Hi! Don't worry to much about it. I don't think its actually in the terms of use to not list a website, that is, unless you are trying to sell something, which I don't see that your website is doing. And while, I guess, some appear to consider it "poor form", there are many Bible forums that include links to poster's websites on each post, so not everyone thinks that way. But since some seem to be sensitive about this, I'd agree that its best to put it in your profile. And welcome to the forum! love in Christ, Mark |
