Bible Question:
Suppose someone very close to you was really wanting to accept Christ into their heart and life...yet, at this present time they are living in sin with someone. They cannot at this point in time, see leaving this other person, so they feel they are not worthy ( which NONE of us are) of Christ's gift. Now I have been told that since this person is not willing to leave this situation voluntarily, that they are not truly ready to be saved... However , I tend to believe that if this person truly wants to accept Christ, and does, that the things she feels she can't do right now,on her own, Christ will strengthen her , and show her His will for her life... which she can't see at this moment. Anyway, this involves someone dear to me, and when she asks me questions concerning all this, I would like to be able to steer her in the right direction. Jesus is our hope. And in accepting Him and His will , nothing is impossible. I would appreciate any advice/scripture to refer her to that might help. God Bless. |
Bible Answer: Dear believer---, First of all, do they know that they are living in sin and grieve for it? Are they will to repent though they lack the faith and ability? In what way they are willing to accept Christ? In Mark 2:1-5 Jesus still forgives the sinner who is unable to go to Him by himself but just by the help of his dear friends (like you). What a loving picture it is!!! See also John 8:3-12 While people were so eager to condemn, Jesus gave. Please note verse ll Jesus said, "I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more." Verse 12: Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life." I hope I have helped. Shalom Azure |
