1 | Is BAPTISM a SYMBOL? | Mark 16:16 | Terra | 31780
Hi, I would like to know if baptism is just a symbol and if you don't get baptized will you still go to hell for believing truly that Jesus died for our sins? |

2 | Is BAPTISM a SYMBOL? | Mark 16:16 | wecarecadre | 43030
There are three basic views regarding baptism. The first follows this line of reasoning. One is baptized (usually an infant) and then later believes. The second goes like this: One believes, is saved, and then baptized. The third, and the one I see here, says that one believes, is baptized, and then saved. Jesus says in this verse, "He that believes and is baptized shall be saved." Note that the verse does NOT say, "He that believes and is saved shall be baptized." As BELIEVERS we should do the will of God, for only those who do His will will enter the Kingdom. Of course this is an extremely rough discourse on this scripture, and a study involves many other verses and passages, which I will be happy to speak more on. Robert |
