1 | Should we use Religious titles here? | Mark 10:18 | justme | 90972
Why do those of you who use the title PASTOR, REV., OVERSEER, ELDER, DEACON, DR., or something simular do so? Is the use of these titles a way of assueing me you know more than me, or that you have more spirituallity? For me these titles are used by the Church you belong to or the denomination with whom you belong to. In this Forum we are just men and women exchanging questions, or attempting to understand the Bible better. I personally find the use of these titles in the Forum forcing others to show respect to your title, rather than the Bible wisdom you have. Any thoughts?

Hank:-) 18,091 names? That is amazing! I can speak for me, that to eeven be called a Christian brings with it an expectation of others to be an example of being consistantly being different form the world. For me many times I face my Lord and confess so many failures of sin, I think the Lord would get tired of hearing of my sin. We know that is not the way the Lord is, none the less I still feel that way. I have heard a few times inmy life "you call youself a Christian?" To my shame I deserved what was said. I have no doubt I would have done more than Peter when he denied Christ three times, I can feel what it must have been like for Peter when Jesus restored Peters relationship with Him. Jesus has unconditional love for us, something not many of have problems comprehending. Blessings Hank! justme |
