1 | Should we use Religious titles here? | Mark 10:18 | justme | 90972
Why do those of you who use the title PASTOR, REV., OVERSEER, ELDER, DEACON, DR., or something simular do so? Is the use of these titles a way of assueing me you know more than me, or that you have more spirituallity? For me these titles are used by the Church you belong to or the denomination with whom you belong to. In this Forum we are just men and women exchanging questions, or attempting to understand the Bible better. I personally find the use of these titles in the Forum forcing others to show respect to your title, rather than the Bible wisdom you have. Any thoughts?
2 | Should we use Religious titles here? | Mark 10:18 | EdB | 90999
Justme I have no problem with a title if it is done for the right reasons. However if it is to lord a degree or a titles over people then there is problem. I also believe if your going to use a title you live up to it. I hate to see a car pass me going 80 mph with a "I love Jesus" bumper sticker. Particularily since God said obey the laws of the land. I even hate it worst to go to a ministers conference and see radar detectors sitting on the dashs of the cars in the parking lot. EdB |

EdB: Oh I know that feeling so well! I have a plack that says "Jesus is Lord" on our truck tailgate. Because I am aware of it this has made me more polite, and willing to pay closer attention to my driving. One thing I really have little tolerance for is clergy asking for a ministers discount! If a business offers it that's different, but to so rude and greedy are those who ask for a discount. Not using a seat belt is another issue I have in cars and trucks with Christian things on the back. Of course I don't know how other drivers see me, I hpoe its in a better light. Blessings. justme |
