1 | Conversation With God? | Matt 7:16 | Hank | 83360
A certain well-known TV preacher in his address to a very large congregation related his conversation with God concerning some question that he, the preacher, had. In telling of the experience, the preacher repeatedly sprinkled his narrative with "God said (so and so) and I said (so and so). Then God said (so and so) and I said (so and so)." Thus he continued on and on with his account of his conversation with God. My question is, Is this the way God communicates with man today? Do Hebrews 1:2, 2 Timothy 3:16 and, for that matter, the entire Bible, have any relevancy in our time? Or can we, like the preacher reportedly did, strike up a conversation with God as we would with our next-door neighbor and get from Him personalized and instantaneous answers to our every question without having to bother to search the Scriptures? What does Scriptue say about how God communicates with man and man with God? --Hank
2 | Conversation With God? | Matt 7:16 | jlpangilinan | 83373
Hank, Here in the Philippines many preachers claim that they have conversation with God using the word "God revealed to me" or "God has a message to me" sound God communicate with them directly. Some of them do pronouncement of the second coming of Christ. Bang Ik Ha a young guy from Korea and had his mionistries here in the Philippines made his pronuoncement that God told him that Christ will come on October 10, 1992 and thanks God, it is not true the word of Christ was remained the true by saying that but the Father the one knew of His second coming. I think God communicate with me through my prayers, and through the things that I see as a proof of his guidance for me. Christ always remeind us to pray so I think it is the best way of communicating God: Mt 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. God bless, |
