Matt 6:7 "And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. Amen is more common at the end of a prayer. Does the word 'Amen' really mean something to you or do you use it because that's what you have always heard? In the Lord's sample prayer, Matt 6:13, the end phrase with 'Amen' is likely an addition. Amen is to be repeated after each curse in Deut 27 to accept it. |

Amen meant something to me, which can be be amidst prayer to show one's conformity with a particular blessing/comment, since I do not consider 'Amen' a meaningless repetition. Now, do you mean it is wrong for one to say Amen (in agreement with a statement made in the midst of prayer), since the book of Matthew 6:7 urges us to stop meaningless repetition, and some Christians who do not fully agree with prayer also have it? I really want to be fully cleared on this. |

It is not wrong. If you are in a church that only says 'Amen' at the end of a prayer you might confuse people who take the 'Amen' as a cue that the prayer is done. | ||||||
