Dear mike--, May I recommend the below scriptures for you: Mat 6:5-8 Luke 18:9-14 I don't see any scriptures demand us to pray aloud for getting the Lord's attention. If so, woe unto those who are dumb! Do we have to yell at Jesus? By the way, Jesus is not deaf as well. Meanwhile, praying aloud does not mean that you are praying truly and honestly. I am afraid I have to say that the person who told you that the Lord will not hear your prayer unless you pray aloud is just putting a stumbling stone onto you. (See how Jesus rebukes the Pharisees) Be it a silent prayer or a vocal prayer, we have to pray fervently, truly, trustingly, desperately and according to His will. It is our heart and attitude that matter not the prayer's audibility. You may do a word search for this subject which has been discussed on the forum in the past in order to get a better idea. Enjoy the forum and Shalom Azure P.S.: Several times I was so much in sorrow that I could not utter a word when I prayed. God listened to me. |
