1 | Does it mean eternal separation from God | Matt 6:15 | redeemed00 | 111554
This verse has confused me. My pastor interprets the verse to mean eternal separation from God. I heard another pastor say that it doesn't. Could anyone help?
2 | Does it mean eternal separation from God | Matt 6:15 | EdB | 111561
redeemed00 That's a can of worms. For those that believe nothing more is required for salvation than just believing then they can't accept this to mean eternal separation. For those that believe, that believing in Christ is more than just going through the mental process of saying yes there is a Christ then they believe they must also forgive to be forgiven. Jesus said that if we love him we must follow His commandments. He repeatedly said forgive those against whom you have offense. Love your neighbor as your self, and this verse. In my opinion whether or not this effects your salvation a TRUE believer in Christ MUST forgive his brother. If a person claims to love Jesus and accepts Him as his Lord and fails to do as Jesus says has clearly not made Jesus His Lord. In other words if you love Jesus you will forgive those against whom you have offense. EdB |
