1 | Was Judas Iscariot a believer? | Matt 5:13 | CDBJ | 160313 | ||
Hi Kalos, There you go again, trying to confusing people with the facts; ho, ho! I guess the obvious is never obvious to some who are suffering from paradigm paralysis. Someone that can’t understand the exegetical implication of the word PISTEUO, believe, could never understand that they couldn’t be indwelt by the Holy Spirit and Satan at the same time once God has sealed His temple. 1 Cor. 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 2 Cor. 6:14 (B) and what communion hath light with darkness? The obvious; none! Couple that with Heb. 13:5 (B) and demon possession of the “believer” is impossibility, as you well know. Hebrews 13:5 (B) I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. I think a lot of people must confuse demon influence with demon possession. If the adversary can neutralize us by getting us out of fellowship with the Lord it puts a big smile on his measurable satanic face, or whatever it is Satan has. Once we are out of fellowship, if we don’t exercise I John 1:9, we are working in the energy of the flesh and all that we do counts for nothing. John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. All of the time that we log with the old sin nature in control of these bodies of ours, instead of the Holy Spirit, grieves or quenches the Spirit. Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. God the Holy Spirit is always with us be we don’t always let him control us as it were, i.e. sin! In my estimation I think these verses clinch the issue. 2 Cor. 1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. Ephes. 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, Ephes. 4:30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. You hit the nail right on the head, no demon possession for the “true believer”, but a lot of demon influence; as if our old sin natures weren’t enough! CDBJ |
