1 | I don't understand how we can interpret | Matt 2:23 | newoldstock | 95291
Ray, thanks. I agree with you about (Rod) and (He). I am convinced that Isaiah is prophesying about Jesus the Messiah. I don't understand how we can interpret that (branch) is (Nazarene). It almost seems like biblical scholars came up with this reference verse to make something fit when they could not find a direct match. God Bless. Jim

Hi newoldstock, If you agree with me about (Rod) and (He), then the next comparison to my mind would be comparing the Branch to being from Nazareth or being called a Nazarene. So then I would capitalize Branch and not "count" Nazarene as a pronoun of Deity. Luke 23:38, "Now there was also an inscription above Him, "THIS [ONE] IS THE (KING) OF THE JEWS." John 19:19, "And Pilate wrote an inscription also, and put it on the cross. And it was written, "JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE (KING) OF THE JEWS." From the heart, Ray |
