1 | Evidence that women's role has changed? | Matt 28:10 | 39894
In 1 Corithians 14:34, it says, "the women should keep quiet in the meetings. It is a disgraceful thing for a woman to speak in a church meeting." A bible study group I am in is studying this passage, and we are confused! Is there any textual evidence in the Bible or elsewhere to back up the argument that gender roles can change with time? I know plenty of girls who contribute greatly to Bible discussions. Please help me out!
2 | Evidence that women's role has changed? | Matt 28:10 | prayon | 39963
Greetings Erika, I would also like to add to the above the situation of Aquilla, Pricilla and Apollos. In Acts 18:26 it tells us that Pricilla and Aquilla taught Apollos the way of God more accurately. They taught not he taught. In addition God tells us specifically in Joel 2:28 that in the end times He "will pour out His Spirit on ALL flesh; your sons and your daughters will prophecy.....Even on the male and female slaves in those days, will I pour out my spirit". Also in 1Cor 11:5 it tells us that women were not allowed to prophecy with their head uncovered and 1Cor chapters 12-14 that women have spiritual gifts and they are encouraged to use them in the body of Christ. You can also find much more on women in the ministry by typing in "women ministry" in the search box. prayon |

prayon ... Pricilla and Aquilla taught Apollos not in a group setting, but two to one. Read the context of 1 Cor 11:5 ... start with verse 1. Yes, there is a place for women in the church, and we have discussed it. S |

Searcher, I have read the details and that is exactly what I said - Pricilla AND Aquilla taught Apollos, and I never said they did so in a group setting. prayon

the world's most educated and academically trained still fail to see the spirit of paul's words......follow:how many times did jesus tell his apostles that he has a bride...or he is the husband...of the church....Read 1 corinthians 2nd chapter....when paul said these words he was talking spiritually...about the women(the church)does not have authority to speak over the holy spirit..read John 14:26...remember the parable jesus gave to his apostles....about the wedding and the invited guest...the bride was his wife...we are his bride he brought us with a price(death on cross).....the only teacher today is not men or women...no matter where it is(church,pulpit)...read john....15:26...16:7,8...verse 12-14.....so no preacher or reverend or pope for that matter can say with a straight face they are doing the teaching today....why argue about if a women can teach!..when god chooses any "body" as a vessel to teach! Read jeremiah 31:34.....paul was talking spiritually.......the women(church)....please read 1 corinthians 2:14-16...
