1 | John 11: Mary Magdalene or Martha's sis? | Matt 27:56 | ldaw942 | 169322
In the story of Lazarus (Jesus raising from death), was Mary Magdalene in that story -- or was it just Mary, the sister of Martha? I suppose you have to know the time frame of both women to answer that?
2 | John 11: Mary Magdalene or Martha's sis? | Matt 27:56 | hobbs | 169323
Magdalene - a surname derived from Magdala, the place of her nativity, given to one of the Marys of the Gospels to distinguish her from the other Marys (Matt. 27:56, 61; 28:1, etc.). A mistaken notion has prevailed that this Mary was a woman of bad character, that she was the woman who is emphatically called "a sinner" (Luke 7:36-50). (See MARY.) 3 | Mary, sis of Martha and Mary Magdalene? | Matt 27:56 | ldaw942 | 169334
My question is: Was Mary Magdalene also one of the Mary's in this story. The other Mary was Martha's sister, I understand that. But, at one point it mentions just the name Mary. That makes me wonder if it could possibly be Mary Magdalene. I think we would need to know the timeframe and locations of both Mary's to be able to determine this. I will appreciate any wisdom on this. Thanks.
4 | Mary, sis of Martha and Mary Magdalene? | Matt 27:56 | Emmaus | 169354
Idaw 942, The verse (56) actually states one of the women was Mary Magdalene. Verse 55 says there were many women there, but all were not named. It would appear that the other Mary also mentioned in verse 61 was the same other Mary mentioned in verse 56, the mother of James and Jospeh. Matt 27:55 Many women were there looking on from a distance, who had followed Jesus from Galilee while ministering to Him. Matt 27:56 Among them was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee. Emmaus |

Actually, I was referring to the Mary in John 11: Mary Magdalene or Martha's sister? I'm sorry that I commented as I did without researching Matthew 27:56. I was still back on my John 11 scripture. Thanks tho.
