1 | In Matt 25: 6 is it about us being ready | Matt 25:12 | kalos | 157380
Frankly, it sounds as if you're saying that you're not going to listen to anyone else -- being above such doctrinal matters -- but you're still going to have your say no matter what. If you think your own personal experience and feelings take precedence over the written Word of God then you are deceived. This is not the touchy-feeling forum. It is the StudyBIBLEForum. If you don't want any doctrine or teaching or discussion, then you have come to the wrong place. |

There was nothing touchy feely about my question as the scripture is posted and the question was very clear and not emotional. At my old age, my purpose was to share scripture first and then ask the question for us all to examine our Holiness and readiness for the bridegroom. There is a definate contentuous attitude lacking love in your sharing and there was no intent on my part to do anything but challenge us all to study to show ourselves ready to go. Sad about your assumption of me, all I read and all I care about is each day lining my life up to the word of God, living it each day and I too, have God's Spirit in me. Please don't give me your opinion as it has tarnished my purpose for the question. Sad.

It may be that I have completely misinterpreted what you previously wrote. If I did, then I erred. But going by the words you had written -- by what you said and how you said it -- is how I understood your meaning. You write: "...there was no intent on my part to do anything but challenge us all to study to show ourselves ready to go." Yet in your previous post it sounded to me like there was not intent on your part to challenge us to STUDY anything. Because of the following remarks in your previous post it sounded to me like you were putting down the written Word, doctrine, studying and understanding the Scriptures. You wrote: "Each of us have different doctrines, different versions of the Bible and each of us has a unique calling of God." This to me sounded like you were implying that doctrine is no big deal. It's how we feel in our hearts that really matters. You wrote: "The soundest doctrine I want is to be in me for teaching and admonishing me and guiding me so I can be a vessel of honor for Jesus." "Separate all the knowledge, and for each of us to not rather teach or preach or share scripture but to each take care of our own vessel in preparation." You wrote: not to "teach or preach or share scripture". To me that doesn't sound like you were challenging anyone to study the Bible. It sounds like you were in favor of NOT teaching or sharing scripture. You wrote: "The letter of the law kills but the Spirit gives life to the hearers." It sounded to me like you were saying we don't need the letter of the Word of God. Forget that. All we need now is the Spirit without the Word. Again you wrote: "filled with His word in our spirit, not carrying a book around." Not carrying a book around sounded to me like you were saying the book (the Bible) is nothing. It's as though you were placing spiritual experience and emotion over the written Word of God. You wrote: "and not minded myself in things too high for me." I took "things too high for me" to mean you couldn't be bothered with the teaching and meaning of the Bible. You write: "God just gave me this simple sharing today and this was not meant to be a Bible quiz question." When you make an assertion, such as the oil (Matt. 25) means having the fulness of the Spirit, you need to be ready to explain it and back it up with Scripture. Then you go on to give your interpretation of the parable and seemingly discount what I had written. You wrote: "Here,,,The lamp signifies your vessel; your body and house. The container we leave behind when we hear that mighty shout. Only those who watch, and only those who stay filled and ready and burning bright will Jesus recognize as His own bride. Those who have cleansed themselves,,,hear me, those who have cleansed themselves, washed their own and are standing in white linen which signifies the righteous acts of the saints of God. Pure, Holy, sanctified and halleluja this ain't my home type of readiness to hear His hand on the door knob of our hearts, amen?" I do not care to be contentious or argumentative any more than you do. It's just that words have meaning and I can only understand what you mean by what you say. I may have misinterpreted what you wrote. If that is the case, then I apologize. Grace to you, Kalos |
