1 | Questions for a Pretribulationist | Matt 24:22 | mark d seyler | 159504
Hi Makarios, No offence taken, my friend! :-) Since my studies are conducted in your absence, you naturally have no idea how much or little time I have spent studing these matters. :-) I have spent literally hundreds of hours studying the rapture, over the course of several years. I have spent much of that time looking at the pre-wrath view. So much so that my wife rolls her eyes when I sit down to examine this material more. Studying Van Kampen's material, among others (Rosenthal, Rev. Best) has served to strengthen my Pre-Trib view, as I continue to study what the Scriptures actually say. The fact is, (and now, I do not want to sound rude) I hardly know where to start to show the errors in Van Kampen's material. Of the many posts I have posted in the past calling into question the solagroup material, showing discrepancies in their interpretations, misquotes of scripture, and interpretations that arbitrarily reject the plain reading of scripture without a textual foundation, of all the times I have questioned this material, none have been answered or addressed. The more I study this material, the more problems I find. I will have some additional material to share regarding what I have read last night from the solagroup article referrenced by Kalos. I believe that I understand the pre-wrath position, and I even briefly believed that it was correct as I examined the teaching, until I realized the many difficulties with this view that simply cannot be reconciled to scripture. What surprised me was the personal nature of the assault against pretribulationists that is presented by the solagroup site. Should you wish to review some of the questions I have asked regarding the pre-wrath view, several can be referrenced by searching "solagroup" and "revelationcommentary", under posts with my name. The pre-wrath view, and its proponents, are very close to my heart, because the pre-wrath teaching gets a lot right that a lot of pre-tribulationists get wrong. The are so close! Anyway, I am intending to post more material on this subject. Please examine what I say, and let me know if you find anything that is misquoted, or not correctly handled. We will both grow from the experiences. Love in Christ, Mark |

2 | Questions for a Pretribulationist | Matt 24:22 | Makarios | 159543
Greetings Mark! I appreciate your response regarding the Prewrath position my friend, and I am glad that you have spent so much time and effort into attempting to understand Biblical eschatology. I believe that we can understand eschatology in a straight-forward way by examining what the Bible says, without any hindrances or hiccups along the way, and the Bible means what it says. Even so, I hardly take seriously such matters and the minutiae of every apect that Biblical eschatology presents, since it demands thorough research, and I would most certainly not be standing at the finish line saying "I told you so" when all is said and done.. :-) With that said, I agree that it would be a good experience to interpret verses to see where they 'should go' in regards to the last days, and to see what the Bible clearly says about all verses, not just a few or favoring a few verses over others. If you die believing in a Pretribulation view of eschatology, that is most certainly small potatoes compared to knowing Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior! Blessings to you, dear Brother! 3 | Questions for a Pretribulationist | Matt 24:22 | mark d seyler | 159574
Hi Makarios, I so look forward to that day, we will stand there together, brother, rejoicing before the Lord! Prophecy fascinates me, and God put a lot of it into the Bible. More useful to today, however, is how we should live. I taught on the Beatitudes last night, the real meat and potatoes of the Word. Oh how happy you are when you are living the way Jesus describes in those few short verses! God gave us all of His Word, so it's all important. His promise to spare me from the destruction that is coming is another cause of joy in my life. My Master is coming to rescue me. He's not going just throw me to the "wild beasts"! But I don't want to die believing pre-trib, I want to get raptured! ;-) 2 Cor 5:4 "for we also who are in the tabernacle do groan, being burdened, seeing we wish not to unclothe ourselves, but to clothe ourselves, that the mortal may be swallowed up of the life." (YLT) See ya' there, or in the air!!! Love in Christ, Mark |

4 | Are babies going in the rapute? | Matt 24:22 | Searcher56 | 159672
Side question - will babies (and some others) be part of the rapture? Why/why not
5 | Are babies going in the rapute? | Matt 24:22 | David24597 | 159674
I don't see the connection between your question and the reference verse (Matt.24:22). However it is only for God to decide who is to be saved. On the one hand the sins of the wicked are also visited upon their children up to the 3rd and 4th generation (Ex. 20:5, 34:7, Num. 14:18, Deut. 5:9 and Jer. 32:18). Yet (on the other hand) the saved son is not quilty for the sins of his father (Eze. 18:17). This would of course assume that child is old enough to make his own decisions. Only God can determine that. |

This thread has move from this verse (Matt.24:22) ... and I was asking those who are pretrib, if they thought babies were included.
