1 | Can Man Reject God or His Truth? | Matt 23:37 | Morant61 | 60252
Rejection of God and His Truth....................... Sir Pent recently recommended a new thread to discuss this topic. So, allow me to start it off with some Scriptures which speak of man rejecting God or His truth. 1) Scriptures which speak of man's rejection of God: Num. 11:20, Deut. 31:20, 32:15, 1 Sam. 8:7, 10:19, Jer. 15:6, Acts 7:39, and 1 Thess. 4:8. 2) Scriptures which speak of Christ being rejected: Ps. 118:22, Is. 53:3, Mt. 21:42, Mk. 8:31, 9:12, 12:10, Lk. 9:22, 10:16, 17:25, 20:17, Jn. 3:36, 12:48, Acts 4:11, 1 Pet. 2:4, and 2:7. 3) Scriptures which speak of God's Law or Truth being rejected: Lev. 26:43, 1 Sam. 15:23, 15:26, 1 Kings 19:10, 19:14, 2 Kings 17:15, Is. 5:24, 30:12, Jer. 6:19, 8:9, Ez. 5:6, 20:13, 20:16, 20:24, Amos 2:4, Luke 7:30, Acts 13:46, Rom. 2:8, 1 Thess. 4:8, 1 Tim. 1:19, Tit. 1:14, and Heb. 10:28. These are just the Scriptures which actually use the word 'reject' in one form or another. There may be more which use different words, but with the same concept. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

2 | Can Man Reject God or His Truth? | Matt 23:37 | John Reformed | 60278
Hello Tim, In the earlier post to Kalos you wrote: "However, there isn't any verse which says that God makes our choices for us. I believe that God has sovereignly given us the ability to choose - to respond to His grace or to reject His grace. Granted, this is a limited freedom. We cannot change the means of salvation. We cannot prevent His second coming. But, we can accept or reject His grace". Can you explain what attribute causes, persuades, convinces or prompts a natural man to choose to accept grace? Bearing in mind that the Bible says: Cor 2:14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. Rom 8:7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so," Is there some inherent desire perhaps, some spark of decency, or goodness. Some people seem to be better or nicer than others. But then I read: Rom 3:12 ALL HAVE TURNED ASIDE, TOGETHER THEY HAVE BECOME USELESS; THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD, THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE." Tell me Tim. What am I missing here. John |
