1 | Did Mary remain a virgin? | Matt 1:25 | Krisjen | 132776
Scripture indicates Mary (Jesus' mother) had other children, but I believe I had heard that she was pure at birth and throughout her life... and remained pure to her death. Does anyone know the correct answer?
2 | Did Mary remain a virgin? | Matt 1:25 | DocTrinsograce | 132777
It is an old Gnostic concept that sex is "impure," being by nature of the body. However, this is not scriptural. Sex is a gift of God that is a level of intimacy sanctioned by marriage, to be enjoyed by a man and his wife. It does not cause one to be impure. As fine as these two people were, I would have hoped -- if nothing else -- that they would have had a normal marriage. Scripture seems to indicate that they did. Their children seem to clinch the argument. |
