Valarie: The expression "weaker and wiser" does not appear in the NASB. I don't happen to know the origin of it. You ask whether it's an "old wives' tale." Probably. A number of "old sayings" have been erroneously attributed to Scripture, things like "God helps those who help themselves" and "Cleanliness is next to godliness." The former, by the way, came from the pen of Ben Franklin, in an edition of "Poor Richard's Almanack." --Hank | ||||||
