1 | Can God create a rock soo big? | Matt 17:20 | john 146 | 96799
Can God create a rock so big, even he can't lift it? I'm sure we've all heard this question once or twice. How do we answer it? If we say yes then he's not powerful enough to lift it? If we say no, then he's not powerful enough to make it? We can't win. Or can we? This question would probably be unanswerable for those that don't believe in the God of the bible, so how do Christians answer? Well ask yourself another question in light of the bible. Can God lie? or sin? absolutly not, but wouldn't that mean that God is not all powerful? No we are not talking about attributes of God, Gods power is one of His attributes. The fact that God can't lie is in relation to His character, and has nothing to do with power. God's character prevents Him from lying, God's character prevents Him sinning. Just as it would be a violation of the character of God to create something that He could not control. The unchanging character of God directly reflects His nature as God. Anyone else care to comment? |

2 | Can God create a rock soo big? | Matt 17:20 | tthom1122 | 96800
If you believe in the God in the bible, then you too can move mountains. The biggest rock is a mountain, he created it, he can move it. Often times referral to a mountain is pertaining to a large problem or something we feel like we cannot overcome, or something that looks so large as we come up against it that we can not get over it. I'm not real sure what your question was, but I hope this is a close answer. |

3 | Can God create a rock soo big? | Matt 17:20 | Stultis the Fool | 127181
Perhaps another question is more appropriate. The insinuation behind the question, "Can God create a rock so big, even he can't lift it?" is another question: "Can God contradict himself?" I put forth that the scripture that answers this question is Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." |
