In Matthew 16:19 , 18:18 It says' Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven" What does bound and loose mean in this verse and for us a believers? I have been given several meanings. | ||||||

I like the NASB on this passage and find it the most accurate translation of this passage. It say, “What ever you bind will have been bound in heave and what ever you loose will have been loosed in heaven.” What was bound and loosed? The laws governing the Old and New covenant. Heb 9:15 For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. Look at what has been changed. Circumcision Gen 17:10 "This is My covenant, which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: every male among you shall be circumcised. Gal 2:3 But not even Titus, who was with me, though he was a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised. Sacrifices Heb 10:4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. So Jesus when He died brought in a New covenant with rules different than the old and I was up to the disciples to teach the differences. We could site many more! |
