Word study ... adelphos, adelphe, anepsios ... Mike, greetings and welcom to the forum. The word for brother in the Greek, is adelphos and sister is adelphe ... and there is a word for cousin, it is anepsios (Col 4:10). James (who Paul say he was His brother (Gal 1:19), Joseph, Simon and Judas were children of Joseph and Mary, half-brothers of Jesus, based on Matthew 13:55, Mark 6:3 and Luke 1:25. His brothers are unnamed in Matthew 12:46, John 2:12 and Acts 1:14. One could cite another passage (1 Cor 9:5). The word used is for brother is adelphos, and adelphe is the word for sister, in each case. Also Psalm 69:8 shows that He had brothers. Do not rely on tradition or trends. Search Scripture to see if what is said is true. Searcher |
