1 | G Friday - Sunday is less than 3 days-wh | Matt 12:40 | J-C | 147112
"for just as JONAH WAS THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE BELLY OF THE SEA MONSTER, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." Mathew 12 :40 Does this verse mean that Christ was or should have been in the tomb for three whole days and three whole nights? If so why do we celebrate Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday so close together. Good Friday to Easter Sunday morning seems less than three days and three nights to me. Could you shed some light in this regard. |

2 | G Friday - Sunday is less than 3 days-wh | Matt 12:40 | Eden's Fury | 227173
The church instituded the Good Friday and resurrection Sunday, but scripture shows that Jesus was crucified on Thursday. When we take the John 19:31 verse into account. Jesus died on the day of preperation and the sabbath day which is Saturday was after the high day that is mentioned in verse 19. This was a special day before the sabbath. The word "high" here means or is equlivent to "holy" the Greek word is "Megas" This can explain where the three days and three nights are fulfilling the statements made by Jesus in Matt 12:40 and Jn 2:19. |
