Mal 3:9,10 you are under a curse the whole nation of you, because you are robbing me. bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house.test me at this,"says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. the word tithe means tenth. to tithe means to offer to God the first tenth of whatever God give us. Abraham offered it (Gen 14 1-24) and the Mosaic Law required it(Lev 27:30-33;Deut 14:22) as an act of gratitude and allegiance. the New Testament teach the tithe, possibly because it's assumed, not as the goal but as the starting place.it teaches we are to use all we are for the glory of God (Mark 8:34-37;Rom 12:1). God is saying that if we choose to be generous, he will keep giving to us so that we can continue our lifestyle of giving(2 Cor 9:8-11. giving the tithe is our way of telling God,I'm trusting you to give me all I need to follow in life of generosity. 2 Cor 9:6.

Do you mean that we still required to give tenth percent? Can you show me that Christ required us to give ten percent of our income. Nowhere in the new testament that Christ or His disciples required anyone to give ten percent of thier income. The teaching in the new testament goes: 2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. No required percentage, but in the purposes of the heart. God bless, Johnny |

Full Life Study Bible has been so helpful in studying God's Word. we must remember that we must be stewards over our money, everything we have belongs to the Lord, so that what we do possess is not our own but what God has entrusted to us; we have no rightful ownership of our possessions. 1) we must decide within our hearts to serve God and not money, any greed is a form of idolatry.(Matt 6:19-24;2 Cor8: 1-5).2) our giving must be to advance the kingdom of God, especially the work of the local church you attend and of the spread of the gospel throughout the world.(Prov 19:17; 1Cor 9:4-14; Phil 4:15-18) 3) our giving should always be in proportion to our income.in the Old Testament the tithe amounted to one-tenth giving less than that was disobedience to the law of God and was in effect robbing God (Mal 3:8-10). Similarly, the New Testament requires that our giving be in proportion to what God has given us (1 Cor 16:2; 2 Cor 8:3,12,; 2 Cor 8:2) 4) our giving should be voluntary and generous; this practice is taught in both testaments. (Exodus 25:1-2; 2 Chr 24:8-11) 2 COR 8:1-5; 11-12) 5) our giving should be cheerful( 2 Cor 9:7 ) 6) God has promised to reward us according to how we have given to Him(Deut 15:4; Mal 3:10-12; Matt 19:21; 1 Tim 6:18-19; 2Cor 9:6) here is alot of scriptures for you I pray you will read and study them. if not if you can attend a Bible class in a church that teaches on tithing. God will bless you beyond your wildest dreams. may God richly bless you.

There is no single teaching in the new testament that will require anyone to give 10 percent of thier income to the church. Now if you can show me that Christ required His apostle to give to Him thier tithes please show me and I beleieve. many churches today that did not observe the law of moses but continue to require thier members to give ten percent of thier income. Paul said we cannot justify by the law of moses, and tithe including in the law of moses. Ac 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. If the tithes is including in the law of moses why it is only the tithes that we require to the members it should be all including in the law, part of the law such as stone to death if we saw our brother and sister gathering stick on the day of sabbath. What is it in the tithes that we cannot reject. If we require anyone to give thier tithes we should require them to observe other part of the law otherwise we are hypocrite as scribes. Mt 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Stated in that verse that we have to be consistent. Instead of recommending to me to attend bible classes about tithing can you please show me any single teaching in the new testament that christ taught that will require us to give 10 percent of our income. Please show me too any of His disciples that collecting tithes from thier church members. In our believed teaching in new testament is about love offering no required amount. 2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. Tithes or ten percent is included in the law of moses and it cannot justify us, or you will say to me that tithe is not including in the law of moses? God bless, Johnny |

hi Johnny, thanks for being so persistant in your question about tithes.years ago when I first became saved, MaL 3:10 fascinated me. the church I belonged to then stressed and taught about tithing. I was paying my tithes on net profit I made and could just barely make it. so one day was listening to Kenneth Copeland on tv. and he said for along time he too was paying his tithes on his net income and spirit of God spoke to him to pay on the gross amount. his ministry at the time was in financial trouble and he did so and got out of financial debt. so I decided to do the same not only because he gave me an example, but because I love the Lord. your local church could not function lights paid etc if it was not for the tithes of its members.I would not tell you to do something I would not do, I to went to class about tithing. so my church gave out a book last year and here is the title so you can research it for yourself. " Tithing" God's Financial Plan. by Dr Norman Robertson.P.O.Box 3330 Matthews N.C. 28106 telephone # 1-888-676-6733. ISBN 0-620-10675-1. it has only 64 pages and you will love it. did not mean to offend you. so keep on being persistant the answer will come into your heart. God bless you.

Meaning you cannot show me any single teaching of Christ in the new testament that will require us to give ten percent of our income. Love offering is important but no required amount this is the teaching that given to us by Christ and His apostles. It is very hard to believed that you reject other law of moses and do part of it, as Jesus said it is the same thing what scribes do. Christ I believed set Himself as an examples to us. If tithe or ten percent is important he will make Himself as example into it. When he taught that baptism is important He done it by setting Himself as an example, He asked John to baptize Him in the river of Jordan. Mt 3:13 ΒΆ Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. Mt 3:14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? Mt 3:15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. Mt 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: Did Christ required Himself to give ten percent? the answer is NO. To those who required thier members to give ten percent of thier income, they always quoted malachi 3:10 as a promise, if you started reading it from 3:6 it was stated that it is specific to Israel because they are bound by law of moses. Are we Jew we are not and we are not bound by law of moses but by grace. It is very clear that law of moses cannot justify us as I quoted in my last post, and tithe is including in the law of moses. I did not say that giving is bad, but there is no required amount if you can give all of your salaries it is acceptable to Him but there is no required amount. Please show me that tithe is a teaching of Christ, and I will believed you. Paul never required his churchmember to give tithes he work his own to earn his living and to serve the church, he was a tent maker during his evangelical journey. This is the great examples of serving Christ. Again I challenge you to show me that single teaching of Christ that will require us to give ten percent. God bless, Johnny |
