1 | Does prayer change God's mind? | Jon 3:10 | BradK | 217448 | ||
Hello Montana mom, Keep in mind, God does not change, He's Immutable. "For I, the LORD, do not change"( Mal. 3:6) Our prayer doesn't change His mind. I like what Oswald Chambers says about prayer in his book, "If Ye Ask"- 'It is not so true that “Prayer changes things” as that prayer changes me, and then I change things; consequently we must not ask God to do what He has created us to do. For instance, Jesus Christ is not a social reformer; He came to alter us first, and if there is any social reform to be done on earth, we must do it. God has so constituted things that prayer on the basis of Redemption alters the way a man looks at things. Prayer is not a question of altering things externally, but of working wonders in a man’s disposition. When you pray, things remain the same, but you begin to be different' I hope this helps, BradK |

Brad, Good day to you brother. Well said. I just got through reading this book titled The Prayer of the Rightious By Mark Templer. One of the best devotional studies on prayer I've ever read. One thing I learned though, God may not change His mind but when His people pray the heart of God is moved and when His heart is moved incredible things happen. In Him, lionheart |
