1 | hope and holy spirit, explanation | Amos 1:1 | EPrincess215 | 107003
I am writing a message to give to my church next Sunday. I feel like I should speak on Hope and the Holy Spirit. I am using romans 5-1-4 and also ezekiel 37:1-14. I don't know how to explain how the Holy Spirit gives hope and what exactly the Holy Spirit is. I know for myself what it is, but I need to be able to explain it well. Any suggestions or comments?

Well, you can continue looking at some in depth things with the Holy Spirit by working your thoughts through Romans 6, 7 and 8. We see the death riddled body in chapter 7 and how it hinders our Christian Life and in a glorious way we see the work of the Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 8. How He fills us, enables us, makes us fit, translates our very prayers to groanings and utterings which we can not even begin to utter. The Holy Spirit we see in the first chapter of Ephesians, is a seal on us that promises the work of Christ to be completed till the perfect work of glorification. So not only does the Spirit work in our bodies in the process of sanctification but He also is a seal of promise that one day we will be completely sanctified in a glorified body. We see in Thessalonians that the Holy Spirit is the one that restraineth and His work then is not only one of sanctifying the believer and a promise to the believer but a way of holding the window open for mankind to come unto our blessed Lord Jesus. What an amazing thing it is to see the wonders of the Holy God. Amen.
