1 | Moses product of Incest? | Ex 6:20 | EdB | 135557
At the time as far as we know God had not yet issued any prohibition against incest. It is thought that the gene pool of man was so strong, not yet weakened by the ravages of sin, that the negative results of incest hadn't been seen. This evidently was quickly changing because when God gave the Children of Israel the Law, a standard to live by a prohibition of incest was included. EdB |

2 | Moses product of Incest? | Ex 6:20 | Just Read Mark | 135559
Hi EdB. Interesting idea. I've heard that approach to the first generations (ie. after Adam and Eve, or after Noah) but never thought of it extending this far along. So, in a sense, the law against incest isn't timeless --- it is context sensitive. Of course, from Mosaic law onwards, we are in the context where it is wrong. Do I have that right? JRM. |

3 | Moses product of Incest? | Ex 6:20 | EdB | 135561
Yes Remember God to establish first mankind then a nation (Children of Israel) wanted man to procreate rapidly. However as sin began to effect man not just spiritually but also physically God had to set more conditions or standards. EdB |
