God dispenses grace according to His eternal purpose. Not based on any merits of the people who benefit, but rather out of the goodness of God's sovereign pleasure, such that, in the end, it will bring God alone glory. Some grace is despensed commonly to all men. Things like the air, rain, order, etc. Even the unjust benefit from these things. However the gift of Christ Himself comes to sinful men, not in proportion to their deserts, but according to how He has appointed them, not unto wrath, but unto salvation. (See Romans 9:11.) | ||||||
