Greetings Brian! I was reading your post and I was a bit confused. Where is 'blessed' defined as 'to make or pronounce as holy'? All of the dictionaries (Greek) that I have define the word used in Luke 1:45 (makarios) as 'blessed, fortunate, or happy' or as ' a recipient of God's favor'. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Hey Tim, Greetings brother. This kinda got me curiouse so I did a quick word study and I came up with this. 1.barak-Bles,givge praise, extol ect5. 2.asre-Happy,highten statev of happiness and joy,oft resulting from Gods kind acts. 3.makarios-Blessed recieving of God's favor, good. 4,makarizo-Call blessed, considered blessed. This particular word is used 237 times, having a working knowledge where usage is concerned often cleares up many miunderstandings and misconseptions where certain words are concerned. It can make a major difference in how and what we perceive in God's Word. As always 2Timothy 2:15, lionheart |
