1 | Did God visit the Isrealites camp? | Ex 20:19 | jcollinsj2 | 185327 | ||
In Exodus 33:12-23 speaks about the promise of God's presence. Within these scriptures Moses ask to see God's glory. God tells Moses that he or no man cannot see his face and live. Then God passes before Moses, but protects him. My question: I thougth that the people ask to see God and that his trail past on the out skirts of the camp, but was so consuming that the people ask Moses to tell God that they want he to stop because they were afraid of being consumed. Is there such a scripture? Somehow I remember reading this somewhere, but now I'm unable to locate the scripture. |

Greetings Jcollinsj2! The only reference that I could think of is found in Ex. 20:18-21: "When the people saw the thunder and lightning and heard the trumpet and saw the mountain in smoke, they trembled with fear. They stayed at a distance 19 and said to Moses, ‘‘Speak to us yourself and we will listen. But do not have God speak to us or we will die.” 20 Moses said to the people, ‘‘Do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning.” 21 The people remained at a distance, while Moses approached the thick darkness where God was." Earlier, in chapter 19, God speaks of the limits placed so that the Israelites would not get to close and die. I hope this helps! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
