1 | Did Jeptanath kill his daugter? | Ex 20:13 | bdblessed | 150377
In Judges 11:39 I am somewhat confused. Did Jeptanath kill his daughter or was she never allowed to marry for the rest of her life. Because he said that he would offer the first thing he saw as a burnt offering. We know that God is not into human sacrifice, so did he kill his daughter and God didnot accept his sacrifice since he is the one that made the vow?
2 | Did Jeptanath kill his daugter? | Ex 20:13 | NYP | 150378
Scripture really doesn't say, but according to the custom of the times, it is likely that unless God interveened, though it would not have been an acceptiable sacrifice, Jeptanath did sacrifice his daughter. I was speechless when I first read that passage. It shows what a fool we can be when we make rash vows. The Lord had already told him, he would be successful. |
