1 | if sabath means sat(day) why we take sun | Ex 20:11 | oscar | 31524
Arise, Sabbath does not mean Saturday, not even in Hebrew. It is the name of the Seventh day, the day that the Lord rest after Creation. We do not take Sunday as the Sabbath. We just do not take the Sabbath anymore. The Sabbath is a day of congregation, to be kept holy; is a sign that God put between Him and His people; He says that for this sign He will recognize us. The fourth beast of Revelation, whose power was given to him by Satan, had change it, as it was writen in Daniel (will think to change laws and times). It was change based in false interpretations of the book of Acts and what the beast call traditions, for convinience, they said. Now we have a day of congregation that is not the Sabbath, neither holy, nor the Sabbath of the Lord that we are commanded to keep. The Sabbath is still the Sabbath and we should keep it holy, which does not mean we should not congregate on Sunday. It is hard for all these people that knows every thing, to understand they were not following the Law of God, but the deception of Satan. That is called pride. They will argue that the Law was abolished, which is half the true, because only the ceremonial law was abolished, but not the Eternal Law (the 10 Commandments). They will argue that God sees the hearth, not the form, this is also half true because he insist many times in keeping the Sabbath, the weekly Sabbath, no the special Sabbaths. They will argue that is enough to worshipping the Lord in any given day, as long as we all congregate, and this will substitute for the Sabbath, this is false because the Lord said "keep my Sabbath" he does not say "a Sabbath" but "my Sabbath". Who are we to change the day that the Lord made holy, and a sign and order to congregate on it. "Those who love me keep my Sabbath." Changing the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday has many connotations for the Deceiver. 1. The only way the Sabbath, the Day after creation could be the first day ofd the week is if there was no creation. 2. To desobey one of the ten Commandaments, for "good reasons", make us think that we can also find good reasons to desobey any of the other nine. 3. The Beast thinks the sign between our Lord and His people is destroyed, therefore he can better substitute the Christ. 4. If you accept his power on this you will accept his power on more. "He will deceive even the elect". The mark of the beast is a chip in the mind of short people. The mark of the beast is the way he think (mark on the head) and the way he acts (mark on the hand), because we are suppose to think with our head and act with our hands. We should try to keep the Sabbath, even if it is not the day of congregation anymore. It is holy because the Lord made it Holy. This of course are my comments, they came from the study of Exodus, Leviticus, Daniel and Revelations. They number of references is too large to put then here, but if you want to go over them then narrow your question, it will be my pleasure to go into details. We already went into a discussion about the subject and it was useless, because of pride. The point is not that the Sabbath is still the Sabbath or not. The point as I understand from your question is that we lost the holy day of the congregation, the sign of the Lord and many christians as you and me are questioning the Sunday and trying to go back to the seventh day of the week, the Sabbath of the Lord. God Bless you Oscar |

2 | if sabath means sat(day) why we take sun | Ex 20:11 | EdB | 31565
Oscar you chided Kalos from responding to ‘Arise’ by saying, “do a search, the question has been repeatedly discussed and there is little or nothing constructive one way or another to add.” You inferred he was limiting the freedom of speech or the dissemination of knowledge. Then you launch into this discourse which adds nothing that hasn't already been said. Do you believe if you repeat your stance often enough it will gain more creditability? Or do you believe the Arise hasn’t done a search and now you have a chance to drive your point home? Or are you even more insidious figuring you would ingratiate yourself to Arise at the expense of Kalos and then as a “friend” offer the true answer Kalos was trying to surpress. Could it be Kalos was really trying to help “Arise” and the forum by saying we have plowed this ground, it has been looked at and if you have something to add which hasn’t been said before add it to the thread which exist? These aren’t really questions just thoughts and observations EdB |

3 | if sabath means sat(day) why we take sun | Ex 20:11 | elder young | 31620
sabbath actually means rest. the important thing to remember here is that God made an example for us to follow. To cease from our own labors and just chill.Just as he did. We are to rest in what Christ our Lord has established in our behalf. He plainly tells us not to follow the bad example of the Israelites who refused to enter the rest of the Lord because of unbelief. Jesus made it clear that we often sqabble and strain over the minor issues while missing the main point. Which day of the week we celebrate sabbath is not the issue as much as actually taking a sabbath is. For health reasons both physically and spiritually. The Holy Spirit has really been pointing this out to me in so many verses of scripture lately like Ephesians 2:1-6. Three main things have happened to believers Resurrection,Promotion, and Restoration. He quickened or made alive and raised us up and then sat us down. By really understanding the sabbath rest God has prepared for us and entering in we will truly Glorify Him and experience the Peace that surpasses all understanding. God Bless You |

4 | Who is the Lord of the 10 commandments? | Ex 20:11 | Scott P | 140392
If you chose to remove the 4th commandment how do you know who or what Lord is commanding you to follow the other nine? Who the Lord is is not identified in the other nine. To elder young I ask, if it doesn't matter what day of the week we celebrate sabbath on why did God say specifically to rest on the seventh day as He had? Shouldn't God just of said to remember a sabbath day and not been specific. I figure if it's good enough for God it must be good for me. How can I as a sinfull corrupt human think that I can do it any other way than God's and it be just as good. God is perfect, there is no better way.
5 | Who is the Lord of the 10 commandments? | Ex 20:11 | MJH | 140401
The sabbath day is Saturday (as you apparently know.) During the first century the Christians, both Jewish and Gentile, continued to honor the Sabbath and usually attended the synagogue. On the first day of the week they honored the Lord's Ressurection day, meeting in homes. During the 4th century (300's) AD, the Church fathers adapted the Sunday celebration because Constantine wanted the whole empire to be consistent in their worship. They choose Sunday as the day of worship. No small reason for this was the fact that the Sun god was worhshiped on this day. This also began another persecusion of the Jews. (I believe) The day a person rests is one of contraversy. Whole denominations center around this one commandment. You need to come to your own conclusions both on the day, and how you honor it. But like the rabbis of old, you need to interpert what it means to "work" while avoiding the temptation to be legalistic, or worse, to honor the sabbath above loving your neighbor as yourself. I'm sure some on the forum, should they read my answer, will correct some errors in my history, but I know that I am close. I honor Saturday, imperfectly I am sure; but then attend church on Sunday. We realised that our Sunday was anything but restful, but it is not easy to go against the grain of the rest of your Brothers, particularly when they assume you are legalistic simply by honoring Saturday as the Sabbath. I often wonder who is being legalistic. Your question seemed to be more of a statement, but I hope that I have helped some. MJH |
