1 | Has the time arrived to believe in Him? | Dan 7:22 | Ray | 70615
I can't seem to get interested in prophecy and tribulation theories but the thread on Daniel 7:25 sparked an interest in the "Ancient of Days" in Daniel 7:22. At this time of the year when we think of when the Ancient of Days came into the world as a little Child; do you think that the time has arrived for the holy ones, the saints of God, to humble ourselves and enter His kingdom? Is this the proper time to become a member of God's flock? I think that it is. Now, today, is the time to say that we belong to Christ, the Highest One. Daniel 7:21,22, "I kept looking, and that horn was waging war with the *holy ones and overpowering them until the Ancient of Days came, and judgment was passed in favor of the *holy ones of the Highest One/, and THE TIME ARRIVED when the *holy ones took possession of the kingdom." 1 Peter 5:4, "And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. 5 ... clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble. 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that He/ may exalt you AT THE PROPER TIME." What I see in these passages is the contrast between us, the ones who belong to God, ones chosen by God, ones called by God, and the Highest One. Daniel 7:9, "I kept looking, until thrones were set up, and the Ancient of (Days) took His seat;..." Daniel 7:13, "I kept looking in the night visions, And behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a (Son) of Man was coming, And He came up to the Ancient of Days and was presented before Him. And to Him/ was given dominion, glory and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations, and men of every language might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion which will not pass away; and (His) kingdom is one which will not be destroyed." Is it time to humble yourself and become a member of His kingdom? 2 | Has the time arrived to believe in Him? | Dan 7:22 | One | 70632
Dan 7:13 "I kept looking in the night visions, And behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, And He came up to the Ancient of Days And was presented before Him. How can this refer to an event in our future? It says the Son of Man came "to" the acient of days not "From" the ancient of days if it were speaking of Jesus and His comeing He would becoming "FROM" God not to God. |

3 | Has the time arrived to believe in Him? | Dan 7:22 | Emmaus | 70648
One, For Daniel and the Jews, Daniel 7:13 was a future event. For Christians it is past with future connotations also. Think of this as description of Christ's His Ascension to the Father to be glorified and receive dominion until all His enemies are put under His feet. But Jesus also spoke about His "coming on the clouds of heaven" in reference to His Second Coming. See Matt 24:29-31 and Acts 7:54-56. Emmaus |

4 | Has the time arrived to believe in Him? | Dan 7:22 | One | 70649
Again look at what this says on the clouds He is not coming "FROM" the Ancient of days, He is comming to the Ancient of Days. I think your right when you speak of this being in the Jews future. I think it is inccorect to see it relating to us because then it would have to read He come FROM the ancient of days. To me is is interesting how people make so many passages relate to Christ second commimg when Christ had not even had His first comming. The Jews in the OT were not looking, expecting or hoping for His second comming they were looking for His first comming. To me what Daniel says refers to the comming of the church only. |

5 | Has the time arrived to believe in Him? | Dan 7:22 | Ray | 70736
Hi One, I trust that you are one who would praise the triune God with me. I praise Him for the Scriptures; for although they were written by men to certain people are certain times, they are nevertheless God's words. They talk of the God who is changeless and eternal. I see a blend of the Persons of the triune God in all the Scriptures and I don't see this chapter of Daniel 7 as speaking only of the Son of Man. It is a vision and not a prophecy as such. Daniel 6:27 speaks of the fact that the God of Daniel delivers and rescues and performs signs and wonders in heaven and on earth. In other words this vision is not one that is restricted to coming things on earth. I see the triune God in chapter seven if only in the three occurances of "Ancient of Days". I also go with the NKJ in occurances which speak of Daniel having in him the Spirit of the Holy God. For instance, Daniel 4:8 or Daniel 5:14. Daniel 5:14, NKJ, "I have heard of you, that the Spirit of God is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you." From the heart, Ray |

6 | Has the time arrived to believe in Him? | Dan 7:22 | One | 71055
Sorry I was so long in getting back. I have not been at work for several days during the holidays. Yes, I do believe in the trinity. I do see distinct roles here, I see the Son of Man as Christ, the Ancient of Days as the Father and the Spirit as the one revealing this vision. To make the Son of Man as referring to the trinity you have the Godhead coming to its self. I feel the way I explained it above is more likely, although it is in many ways difficult to separate the trinity.
