1 | dictatorship superior to democracy? | Dan 2:37 | EdB | 82365
Pastor Glenn Yes a dictatorship is stronger than a democracy, while displayed in this passage in the Bible, that is trend is also seen in any study of political science or sociology. However that does not mean it is the most desirable. Each successive government in Neuchadnezzar's dream was represented by a low quality metal. Gold being the highest assigned to Nebuchadnezzar's dictatorship down to iron and clay assigned to Rome's democracy. In order of personal preference we would prefer the democracy. However most Democracies give into dictatorships when social morals drop so low that crime and anarchy reign. The framers of our constitution realized this and most commented that the democracy of the US hinged on the Christian ethics and morals, if they disappear the democracy will collapse. EdB |

""""""However most Democracies give into dictatorships when social morals drop so low that crime and anarchy reign"""""" Ed B and Pastor Glenn What are some examples? 3 | dictatorship superior to democracy? | Dan 2:37 | EdB | 82482
Piper Every Democracy that has ever existed and fallen has done so because of the decay of moral and ethical values. People become so comfortable with their freedom they no longer want to defend it. Rome every man took part of in the business of the state however toward the end they were paying others to serve their required military service. Crime had become rampant and they yielded personal freedom to try to regain it. EdB |

4 | dictatorship superior to democracy? | Dan 2:37 | Piper | 82515
Ed I thinking you're taking the Gospel of prosperity and applying it to countries. Doesn't the world system belong to the devil? So, those who succeed by the standards of the the "world", whether it be a person, a country or a football team, are not necessarily Godly. Right? |

5 | dictatorship superior to democracy? | Dan 2:37 | EdB | 82543
Piper How did you get here? The question was asked is a dictatorship a stronger form of government than a democracy. I said yes. I never said it was better, nor more Godly, or even more preferable. It is simply stronger. Now what does that have to do with prosperity, Satan or football? Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. EdB |
