Lorrainbow: Swine (pork) was forbidden, but seafood was not except those species that did not have fins or scales (Leviticus 11:12). That would include shellfish, which has neither fins nor scales, and fresh-water catfish, which has fins but does not have scales. It is remarkable (or is it?) that modern nutritional science corroborates the wisdom of God's dietary laws laid down thousands of years ago. I've never heard of a restaurant that serves buzzard (Leviticus 11:13) under glass, have you? --Hank | ||||||
