1 | Does the Lord deceive and mislead? | Jer 4:10 | Makarios | 27103 | ||
Greetings Steve! "Like Habakkuk (1:12-17), Jeremiah was horrified at these words of judgment, contrasting the prevailing hope of peace. God is sometimes described as if doing a thing He merely permits, such as allowing false prophets who delude themselves to also deceive a sinful people into thinking peace would follow (cf. 6:14; 8:11; 1 Kings 22:21-24). God sees how people insist on their delusions, and lets it happen." [MacArthur Study Bible] - Nolan |

Scripture ... Rom 1:24,26,28 - context vv 18-32 ... Nolan, You are right, or Dr. MacArthur is. We need to know the whole Bible when we read verses like these. As I read your post Romans 1:18-32 came to mind. These poeple too, will like what God permits, for awhile. Steve |

Thank you Steve! I have found that I agree with just about every one of John MacArthur's interpretations, since his notes are so saturated with Biblically based points! Thank you for your compliment! I always go back and search for past material that I have posted here, just to make sure that my thinking "has not changed.." And if it has, then I would post that as well! :-) Blessings to you, Nolan |
