I don't know what all the mystery and confusion is about. In the biblical and historical context "refuse the evil" in Isa. 7:16 simply means: "Before the promised son of Isaiah was old enough to make moral choices, the kings of Syria and Ephraim were to meet their doom at the hands of the Assryians." For more information go to www.bible.org/netbible/index.htm and read the text and notes at Isaiah 7:10 and following. |

kalos, hi! Are you saying that Isaiah 7:15 has no bearings with the Immanuel? I thought that perhaps it had a dual interpretation: refering to the people of Israel living in some form of comfort back in the promise land--as opposed to still living in exile--when the sign given by God would be manifest. God Bless! |

JCrichton: No, I am not saying that Isaiah 7:15 has no bearings with the Immanuel. It's just that the prophecies in Isaiah 7:10 and following have both a near and a distant fulfillment, the near being near the time in which it was written and the distant being in the time of Christ's incarnation. For more information go to www.bible.org/netbible/index.htm and read the text and notes at Isaiah 7:10 and following. Peace, kalos |
