hi, I am doing my RS coursework but am stumped with quotes. I grew up in Zimbabwe and was always taught that the consiquences for breaking the ten commandments (particuarly murder) was punishable by enternal damnation. My only problem is that I cant find any quotes to support this phrase. My teacher has told me the phrase eternal damnation is wrong and is not used in modern teachings. The closest I could find was Deuteronomy 5:32 but it is very easy going and dosent say much about the consiquences of disobeying the ten commandments. Please any help would be much appreciated ! kgp |

Hi kgp, Isaiah 66:24 (24) And they shall go out and see the dead bodies of the men who have rebelled against Me; for their worm shall not die, nor shall their fire be put out; and they shall be an object of disgust to all flesh. This passage does not limit eternal punishment to those who break the 10 commandments, but claims it for all those who rebel against God. Love in Christ, Mark |
