Dear Daniel, Welcome to the forum! Why questions are notoriously difficult to answer (186286). Clearly God could have handled things differently. The fact that He did not do so indicates that we simply do not understand His full intentions. However, there are some things that we can know quite clearly: (1) What He does is always perfectly righteous, holy, just, merciful, wise, and intentional (cf Isaiah 59:7-13). We do not judge God's character by what He does, we judge what He does by His character. (2) In the end, it will all be for God's glory (Isaiah 43:7) and His elect's good (John 17:9-23). (3) If it were essential for us to understand, He would have revealed it in the Word (Deuteronomy 29:29). By the way, all sin is rooted in a "personal war" with God. In Him, Doc |
