2 | stoning the Rock? How presumptuous. | Is 30:29 | Searcher56 | 59703 | ||
Word study ... tsuwr-petra, caqal-lithazo ... Ray, greetings. There is no comparison between Isaiah 30:29 and John 10:31, which says "The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him." Rock is tsuwr (Isa 30:39) in Hebrew and petra in Greek. Stone is caqal in Hebrew and lithazo (John 10:31) in Greek. Be careful when comparing even the same word in English. There could be a vast difference in the orginial. Searcher |

Hi Searcher, That there is a difference is exactly my point. It is ridiculous for one to think that he could stone a Rock. It is the difference again between men's abilities and God's. It is the difference between man's witness and God's. It is the difference between Peter, the stone, and Jesus the Rock. From the heart, Ray |
