1 | Sow a seed for my prayer request? | Prov 3:6 | jesus1km | 197329
Hello! Right now, I'm probably at the lowest point in my life! Therefore, I have no choice but to trust God! I had been waiting about 1 yr to get hired for my dream job, once a position became available. Well, a few wks ago my friend sent me a text message stating that the boss decided to hire an LPN for the position. I refused to give up on that job, so I prayed and sowed a seed believing God would touch the boss heart so he could hire me. Well, that position was already filled, but now he is in the process of creating another position real soon, and I was told by my friend to be prepared because that position will be mine. My question is.........Did I move the hand of God because I sowed that seed in faith? Was it my faith alone, or was it the seed I sowed? Do I need to sow a seed everytime I want God to do something for me?

Hi, jesus1km... The "seed faith" teaching you are talking about is a false doctrine, not taught in Scripture. Instead, look to God as providing the best for you (Romans 8) regardless of how it looks to you. Remember my answer in post #197262. In Him, Doc |

Ok, now I'm a little confused! Isn't sowing a seed the same as giving an offering (not tithe) to God? I know that giving an offering is required (I think), and it's somewhere in the bible. I hear about sowing a seed all the time on TBN, and I was taught that at my church. Also, my Pastor never mentioned that it was false doctrine. He sows also. Well, if thats true, was I wrong for sowing? Maybe I'm confusing "sowing" with "offering". Thanks!

Greetings, You might want to consider the following with regards to the seed? Luke 8:4-15 And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable: 5A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. 6And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. 7And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. 8And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. 9And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be? 10And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. 11Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. 13They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. 14And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. 15But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. It's generally the function of the Forum to let God's Word give the answers to questions. What we say as individuals doesn't hold much water; as the saying goes. The Bible is the answer that is profitable for instruction. All Scripture has a primary interpretation and often numerous practical applications. 2 Tim. 3:16-17 (NASB) All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. Psalm 119:160 (NASB) The sum of Thy word is truth, And every one of Thy righteous ordinances is everlasting. 2 Tim. 2:15 (KJV) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
