1 | Deliverance what is the Criteria? | Prov 11:14 | tlhunter54 | 48480 | ||
Question: Deliverance what is the Criteria? I have been a Christian since 1973. Since 1988 I have found myself in a struggle for my life and sanity. Drugs. I am confused. The Lord does carry me through the situations I get myself into. I still read the scriptures and I still attend church. I have gone to numerous treatments. I have attempted suicide once. I am told it is up to me. And that is okay with me. Because I know on my own I will probaly never completely stop. On the Other hand I have been told that God is my deliverer. That is what I want to belive. The Lord Jesus knows my heart and how I have come to him for release and deliverance. Romans 7:15-25 is my theme song. But it hurts. Of course I am in trouble now, and I know trouble doesn't last always. HOPE I want to be free. I heard about people who God delivers instantly and completely. I just seem to get deliverance breaks, SMILE. What's the criteria for being completely delivered? I have been told I will stop when I have had enough. Does that mean when I have had enough God will deliver me? I know I have had enough since the night I tried to kill my self. And that was 10 years ago. So, what's the deal? Is it me or is it God? Who is going to stop this maddness? |

This forum is not qualified to give counsel ... I'd go to wise Christian counsel. Searcher |

My Friend, I call you my friend because I also was in bondage to drugs and alcohol. In fact your testimony sounds like mine! Psalms 1:1 says "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungoldly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful." I have been completely set free from drugs and alcohol for 2 years. I am not a counselor, but I was an addict, I know the maddness and everthing else that goes with it. Anyway as I was saying, Psalms says don't walk in the counsel of the ungodly, God put it in my heart not to get counsel from people who aren't Christians, and only from those who know what they are speaking of, because there are a lot of people who mean well, but they miss the mark. The solution to our problems was drugs and alcohol, the wrong solution. The problem is within, and the solution is Jesus. You say Romans 7:15-25 is your theme song, why not Romans 7:24-25? Listen, can I get back to you? Or contact me at glorod7@aol.com, I have an appointment to get to, and there is much more I would like to address here, ok! Your post caught my eye and I wanted to touch bases with you. Yes there is HOPE, and you know the Lord, and He is bigger than that addiction you have been carrying around for all these years. God Bless you real good. |
