1 | Can angels have human babies? | Gen 6:4 | Servant7 | 29302 | ||
Greetings in the Lord. Here's a little somthing to consider. The Hebrew Word for "sons of G*D" is "Bene Ha Elohim". The word any other place in the Tanak( old testament)is translated Angles.(Job 1:6,2:1,38:7, for a few). You are correct in saying Matt 22:30 does not say Angles "cannot" be given in marriage, it refrences "will" not. Another tid-bit for us all to chew on is "the daughters of man" in Genesis 6. The hebrew word for "daughters of man" is "Benoth Adam", which would better translate "daughters of adam". This kinda leaves the "lines of Seth", and the "daughters of Cain" out of this equation. This is not a salvation issue, still it is good to be diligent in our studies of G*d's word. Another reason I stress this is because I do not believe we are done with these Nephilim. For a little more insight into this topic, there is a briefing package Koinonia House offers by Chuck Missler, " The Return of the Nephilim", 1997. I hope this helps, In Christ, Servant7 |

Hello BRETHEREN, It would seem, that since Cain's familyline and Seth's familyline were the only familyline's known to man, most of us would consider the line of Seth and Cain to be the obvious rendering for this "offspring". Some would argue that in the NT it says Jesus said angels are not given into marriage. Or does this mean they arent given into being allowed to marry? Both views offer good insight. Looking at the Nephilim from the point of view that they are "offspring" of a supernatural nature considering their unnatural stature could verily be substantiated by Scripture if we look into the "angels" or "sons of God" from the context they were written. And not from the bias we have from one verse. We find angels being held in chains until they are released by Jesus. They are held down because they ONCE left thier "familiar surroundings" or "abode" or "created use of influence" for the use of decieiving mankind. What kind of haneous crime can an angel do to be put into lockdown from God.? We know 1/3 of the Host were cast down with Lucifer... would it be presumptious of us to think some decided to leave their sphere of familiarity to wreck havoc on mankind? Deception has been Lucifers tools since the beginning. Why would this be any less deceptive than other ways he used Us? ....lets not convolute the story..... *shalom* D |

Dear Discipled, This thread of whether the sons of God are angels or they are the sons of men is very interesting and as I have heard you say, provocative. Recently I have found myself in Genesis and was reading about Lot in Gen 19:1, when two angels came upon him in the gate to the city. The thought I have been having lately, and I would appreciate your insight, is the fact that Lot sees the two angels as angels and further on in the Text of the same chapter, within context, the men of Sodom told Lot to give them the men which came unto him. What do you think about Lot seeing the visitors as angels and everyone else(men of the city) as just men? Any thoughts? Bless you, Love Fountain |

Hi Love Fountain, It has been quite sometime since ive been in here. No excuses, i just havent made time. MY BAD ! ehehehe Forgive me for never returning a post to your question. You asked what i thought about Lot seeing the Angels as "angels" and the people of the city seeing them as men. My first thought was: As Jesus told Nicodemus, unless you are born again you cannot "see" the Kingdom of God. Lot "was" a man of God and saw the spriritual things and of course the city of Sodom only saw the things they cared about...THEMSELVES. So since they did not have eyes to see the heavenly things or even discern the heavenlies...they could not see these "men" as Angels. But I may be wrong about that...i havent sought this thru...like i said ..this is my first impression without further study. BUT i must say....it was a reallllllllly good question...forgive me for overlooking it those few months ago. *shalom* D |
