1 | angelic beings pro-create or not? | Gen 6:2 | sdtaylor99 | 108059
How do we know that angelic beings cannot pro-create? In Genesis 19, the account is given of Lot washing the Angels feet, the angels eat, and the people in Sodom wanted to know where the "men" where that came to Lot. The men were the angels, so appearantly angels can take on human form. Not only that, but the three angels that appeared to Abraham and Sarah to bring the news about Sarah being pregnant in her old age are described as "men" and seem to appear in human form. Can you give scripture to show me where angelic beings can not pro-create? So far I haven't been able to find it. Thank you EdB, for reminding me of the primary priciple and for your reply |

2 | angelic beings pro-create or not? | Gen 6:2 | New Creature | 108095
As far as I know there is not a single instance given in scripture where angelic beings ever pro-created with humans, let alone others of their own kind. I therefore must conclude that angelic beings were not created with the capacity to pro-create. Also you mentioned the account in Gen. 19 where angelic beings entered Lots house. The important thing to see in that Biblical account is, that it was the men of Sodom who saw the angelic beings, who had taken on human form and likeness, and it was the men of Sodom that wanted to have the angelic beings come out of Lots house so that they (the men of Sodom) might know them in some sort of personal way. No where does the text say that it was the angelic beings that desired to have sexual contact with the men of Sodom. I do however agree with you that angelic beings can take on human form, but that doesn't mean they are capable of pro-creation. The number of angels themselves have remained constant throughout their existance. Even the following text from the New Testament gives distinction between humans and angelic beings. Mattthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they (referring to humans) neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. Shalom New Creature |

3 | angelic beings pro-create or not? | Gen 6:2 | EdB | 108170
New Creature Your absolutely right there is noconclusive account of angels procreating with humans. Some feel Genesis 6:2 may be such account but again it is not conclusive. Therefore to say angels can't is just as false as saying angels can. We just don't know. We know very little about angels, the behold God face, they at times provclaim His message, and we know they don't marry (perhaps they are all male), perhaps not we just don't know. Therefore to say something like angels can not procreate with humans is doctrine of man. You can say I strongly believe angels can not procreate with humans and that would be find. I would even agree but to say what you said as fact is wrong. EdB |

4 | angelic beings pro-create or not? | Gen 6:2 | New Creature | 108191
Dear EdB Let me clarify my position Since I see no conclusive Scriptural proof that would lend weight to the assumption that angelic beings ever pro-created, either with their own kind or with other kinds of beings, I will assume they have not been created with that ability, until proven otherwise by Scriptural evidence. New Creature That is a fair position and one I would agree with. But remember it is only an "assumation" and should not be stated as fact. EdB |
