BJKB: These tetra-initial screen names are getting hard to keep track of! Perhaps you'll meet your "cousin" CDBJ, a fine, upstanding fellow with a keen sense of humor who is a valued, long-time contributor to this Forum. And to this Forum I extend you a warm welcome. Had Adam and Eve had no progency but the two boys, Cain and Abel, we wouldn't be around to worry about about how the world ended up with a few billion people. Adam and Eve eventually kicked the bucket, Cain did Abel in, leaving only Cain who died sooner or later, and then all that would be left would be the title for an Agatha Christie mystery, "And Then There Were None." But as Emmaus points out, such was not the case, for the Bible says that Adam had other sons and daughters who got things going, including providing through Adam and Eve's offspring somewhere down the line a wife for Cain. I just thought it time to mention Cain's wife, since the question of who she was has not been asked on the Forum in over a week :-) --Hank

Hank- am new here and have questions that need to be put forward to fellow believers so that I don't trip up and stumble. Excellent point about our ancestors, but one must still wonder...as cain is banished he is concerned about other men going to kill him. We certainly don't have all the answers to all our questions, which places us back into our faith. David (mr.b)

Welcome, David. You're right; we don't have all the answers. God in His absolute sovereignty and infinite wisdom has revealed what He has chosen to reveal and that is all. But He has revealed enough of Himself to give us every reason to love and trust Him, to praise and worship him, and by His grace through faith in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to be His children eternally. As the hymn puts it, "My faith is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame but wholly lean on Jesus' name." ...... But our faith, David, is not an empty faith. It is "the ASSURANCE of things hoped for, the CONVICTION of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1) --Hank
