1 | Why did God reject Cain's offering | Gen 4:5 | CDBJ | 236299
Greetings, In reading Gen 8:21 the translations that I have don’t describe what you have inferred and there are about nine more that I haven’t listed here and they don’t suggest what you are saying either. You stated the following: “Offerings from the ground are perfectly acceptable. Gen. 8:21” Genesis 8:21 (KJV) 21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. Genesis 8:21 (NASB) 21 The LORD smelled the soothing aroma; and the LORD said to Himself, "I will never again curse the ground on account of man, for the intent of man's heart is evil from his youth; and I will never again destroy every living thing, as I have done. Genesis 8:21 (NIV) 21 The LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: "Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done. Genesis 8:21 (ASV) 21 And Jehovah smelled the sweet savor; and Jehovah said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake, for that the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more everything living, as I have done. Genesis 8:21 (NKJV) 21 And the LORD smelled a soothing aroma. Then the LORD said in His heart, "I will never again curse the ground for man's sake, although the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done. How do you reconcile the fact that your statement is in direct discord with the following? Hebrews 9:22 (NKJV) 22 And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. Genesis 8:21 (AMP) 21 When the Lord smelled the pleasing odor [a scent of satisfaction to His heart], the Lord said to Himself, I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the imagination (the strong desire) of man's heart is evil and wicked from his youth; neither will I ever again smite and destroy every living thing, as I have done. I.e. (No Veggies allowed!) What translation are you using? CDBJ |

2 | Why did God reject Cain's offering | Gen 4:5 | Susan B Lange | 236303
I read the OKJV. The purpose of an offering is for the priests and people to eat it. An offering of fruit or bread, etc. is perfectly acceptable and God said he would never cause another flood. The sign of this covenant is the rainbow

How many books does your OKJV Bible have in it? If there are only sixty six then it isn’t of the oldest KJV. I examined an old KJV that had the books that are called the Deuterocanonical Books of the Bible. These are books which are included in some version of the canonical Bible, but which have been excluded at one time or another, for textual or doctrinal issues. These are 'Deuterocanonical', which literally means 'the secondary canon.' I’ve memorized numerous verses from the KJV but in fact the accuracy of this translation suffers from countless anachronisms due in part to the Elizabethan English. The KJV was also translated from the Textus Receptus Manuscript, which the better scholars have found to be inferior to other manuscripts that have been discovered since that period. CDBJ |

I have found the OKJV to be remarkably accurate and it's the only version I read with the exception of the Hebrew.

That’s very interesting, how often do you go into your closet to pray? Matthew 6:6 (KJV) 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. CDBJ |
