If so then all the offsprings of Adam, should call Cain eldest brother or father, or uncle, or grandpa or great granpa and so forth ( in Asian we call this way). So why Cain worried that "whoever found him would kill him" in gen 4;14? |

2 | Was Cain the first son of Adam? | Gen 4:1 | Emmaus | 48902 | ||
Wang, Shelly has answered your question. Another point of interest is that the line of The Promise descended through Seth rather than Cain. Cain was just one a number of examples of "eldest brothers" who failed to live up to the privileges of their position. God then raised up another younger brother to fulfill His promise. Cain slew Abel and God raised up Seth. Isaac was God's choice and plan, not Ishmael. Jacob supplanted Essau who sold his birthright for a mess of pottage. Joseph became the leader of all his elder brothers who sold him into slavery. Moses was Aaron's younger brother. David, God's choice was the yougest rather than the eldest of the sons of Jesse. But the primary example of this pattern is found in the first Adam and Jesus, the Second Adam, whom God's raised up to save his people. God's only begotten son from all eternity. Emmaus |
