1 | Pls explain travailling in biblical sens | Gen 38:27 | Searcher56 | 172239 | ||
Leigh-Anne, God's day to you and welsom to the SBF, There are several Hebrwe words translated travail. I am looking at the KJV Yalad is about birth, was when Tamar gave bith(Gen 38:27). In Greek it is odino ... pains of child birth (Rev 12:2). T@laah is toil, hardship, distress, weariness, as Israel in Egypt (Exo 18:8). In Ecclesiastes, the word is inyan, which is means job and is translated burden in the NIV. Chuwl is translated travail in Isaiah 23:4 and means to twist, whirl, dance, writhe, fear, tremble, travail, be in anguish, be pained ... and the NIV says labor. In the Greek, we also have mochthos, which is working hard (2Th 3:8). ... so I see it being tough phyiscal labor. I doubt much is tougher than childbirth. Searcher |
