Hi umagumadog, There weren't any angels involved. They were cherubims. A different heavenly creature than angels. Gen 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. Weather they ate of the tree of life or not wouldn't matter. God said don't eat of the tree of knowledge or you will die. If they ate of the tree of life and disobeyed they would die. If they did not eat of the tree of life and disobeyed they would die. It was the disobediance that brought the sin on them, not the tree of knowledge itself. Plus the Scriptures does not tells us if God even told Adam and Eve that there was a tree of life. So they may have been oblivious to it to begin with. Does that help? terrib |

Forgive me brother pride and slothfulness caused me to stumble. I knew it was cherubims but couldn,t remember how to spell it so my embaresment (pride)told me to just put in angel in cherubims place instead of looking up the spelling so forgive me. As for the tree of life Adam had a charge to take care of Gods garden Gen 2:15 and we know the tree of life was there (because God tells us in Gen 2:9 the tree of life was in the Garden of Eden, also Gen 3:23-24) before Eve was created or ate from the tree of knowledge. So as God himself told man, man could have ate freely of it (but with out knowledge of whether it was good or evil) without consequence but after knowledge came and man realised he was already dead he could no longer partake of the tree of life. Hi umagumadog, Thank you for being so honest about the pride thing. Not many would have admitted that. Stay honest before God and man; and there's nothing to forgive on this end, for as soon as I read your post, it was put behind me. Out of the abundance of all the good trees in this world we have to go for the bad one. What a difference in Adam's life had taken place. Abounding in the love and friendship of the Lord and then hiding himself from that love. And right away, sin takes a partner, unrepentance. For Adam tries to shift the blame to the woman and to God Himself. Gen 3:12 "...The woman whom thou gavest to be with me...". It is a good lesson to reflect on. Maybe you could write in your personal profile how you came to the Lord and a little about yourself. Knowing a bit about you can help everyone get to know you better and glory in our Lord. Gal 6:6 "Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things." Stay in prayer and share everything with God, for He is our Teacher. Your brother, terrib |
