1 | measure day\night no sun or stars | Gen 1:3 | callmethewolfe | 72310 | ||
Hi below is a quote from skeptics trying to disprove the bible, does anyone know how to refute this? Please? I am a believer and happened upon an unbeliever he said there were contradictions in the bible and gave me a link to alleged contradictions in the bible, I am systematically going through trying to "debunk" each of these lies, but this one is beyond my knowledge, please help "God creates light and separates light from darkness, and day from night, on the first day. Yet he didn't make the light producing objects (the sun and the stars) until the fourth day (1:14-19). And how could there be "the evening and the morning" on the first day if there was no sun to mark them?" |

You might want to try this on for size? This is for you not for them! Genesis 1:1-2 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. [2] And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. If you have water with no light there is a absence of heat and thus you have what we call Ice. The word moved in the KJV is from the Hebrew word, RACHAPH, a primitive root; to brood; 1 John 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. Tie this with Hebrews 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire. Now the results are light and a lot of heat that will melt the icepack that is surrounding the earth as the Lord moved around and brooded over it. God was brooding over the earth just like a mother hen would do for her chicks to warm them up and He was the first light mentioned in Gen. 1:2. Now to maintain this equilibrium of heat to sustain the earth God uses the sun and the rest of our universe to hold it all in check. It all adds up to a fantastic plan and he is still in control weather your scientific friends want to believe it or not! You can never convince someone of anything unless they want to know the truth and even then it is the Lord who will reveal it to them. They don’t need proof to understand the Bible they need Jesus Christ. 1 Cor. 1:18-21 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. [19] For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. [20] Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? [21] For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. Have a nice day, CDBJ |

Hi CDBJ, Yes, He is in control "weather" or not...:) Good post, CDBJ. Genesis 1:14, "Then God/ said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth"; and it was so. And God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also. And (God) placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth,..." John 9:4, "We [Or, It behooves Me to work] must work the works of Him who sent Me/ while it is day; night is coming, when no man can work. 5 While I am in the world, I am the (Light) of the world." John 1:9, "That, There, *He/ was the true Light which, coming into the world , enlightens every man. He was in the world, and the world was made through (Him), and the world did not know Him." 2 Corinthians 4:3, "And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of (Christ) who is the image of God." 1 John 1:5, "And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is (Light), and in Him is no darkness at all." Hebrews 12:29, "for our God/ is a consuming fire." That One is the true Light. The only One who possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light. 1 Timothy 6:16. From the heart, Ray |
