Greetings G ZAZ! I look forward to refuting all of the misapplications that you have attached to the verses that you have cited! 2 Peter 3:8 could hardly be used to support "The Gap Theory" since Peter is clearly speaking to those in Christ about God's perspective of time, and not man's perspective. And the very same thing can be said for your misapplication of Psalm 90:4. Would you like to know what Hosea 6:1-2 is really speaking of? Here is a little bit of commentary on Hosea 6:1-2... "6:2 After two days...On the third day. Not a reference to the resurrection of Christ (illness, not death, is in the context), but to the quickness of healing and restoration (cf. the quickness with which the dry bones of Ezek. 37 respond). Numbers are used similarly elsewhere (e.g., Job 5:19; Prov. 6:16; 30:15,18; Amos 1:3)." (1) And Exodus 19:11 has absolutely nothing to do with Hosea 6:2. Also, you cannot misapply Revelation 20:4 in this way either, since Exodus is written as a narrative/historical account and Revelation is apocalyptic literature. Not only that, but this is perfect example of bad hermeneutics! You are going to have to do much better than that if you want to provide any substantial support for such a theory that was first formulated in the 17th century. And those who hold to the "Gap Theory" have yet to offer any kind of substantial explanation for their theory in light of such verses as Exodus 20:11.. Blessings to you, Makarios |
